Transparent polycarbonate cover and polypropylene base will not shatter or implode at full vacuum when used according to instructions packed with product. Body is impervious to all the usual desiccants except concentrated acids. No gasket necessary, and no need to draw a vacuum to make cover airtight; only grease is needed. Unique recessed-rim cover keeps grease off bench when cover is set down.
