Hydrogenation Apparatus - Catalytic, Low Pressure, Shaker Type, 500mL, Parr Instrument Company

Recommended for catalytic hydrogenation, condensation and other reactions for which pressures to 5 atm (60 psig) and temperatures to 80°C are adequate. It can also be used for quantitative tests to assay compounds containing hydrogen-saturable double bonds and to test the activity of catalysts used in industrial processing. Reactions are conducted in 500 mL borosilicate glass bottles held in a sturdy clamp and shaker mechanism. Bottle fits inside wraparound metal screen which restrains flying glass in the event of accidental breakage. Alternate fittings for using 250 mL bottles are available. Connections to a 4 liter hydrogen tank permit quantitative control of the gas pressure in the reaction bottle; separate gauges indicate bottle and tank pressure at all times.

The apparatus is assembled on a 21 1/2 x 15 inch steel base with 1/6 hp motor with belt guard and switch box. Supplied with two extra 21-3455 500 mL bottles and one extra stopper.
