Chemically inert vessels in which microwave heating can be used for rapid sample dissolution in a sealed vessel. Available in two sizes which can be heated in any commercial microwave oven. Many samples can be dissolved or digested with less than one minute heating times. Offers rapid cycle time (20-30 minutes, including cooling). Hand-tightened knurled cap closure; no wrench or spanner required. High strength polymer resin bomb body offers excellent chemical resistance to common mineral acids used in these bombs and resists heat to 150°C.
Maximum working pressure is 1200 psi. Liner has self-sealing O-ring design plus compressible release disc which will blow out O-ring if pressure reaches 1500 psi. Safety retainer screw will protrude to indicate pressure buildup. Bomb itself should not reach temperatures above 50°C. This will be possible if reactants are not heated above 250°C. Do not use in conventional oven.
