In 1970 we responded to increasing concerns over health and safety issues related to the handling of powdered culture media. By developing a way to manufacture our media in granulated form we were able to significantly reduce the health risks to microbiology lab personnel and, at the same time, build in other significant, differentiating products benefits. Because granules reduce dust, health risks due to inhalation, exposure to surface residues and airborn irritants are minimized.
Typical Composition (g/L): Peptone from casein 10.0; meat extract 1.0; D(-)mannitol 10.0; sodium chloride 10.0; phenol red 0.025; agar-agar 12.0.
Also to be added: Egg-yolk emulsion 50mL/450mL, Cereus Selective Supplement (EMD No. 1.09875.0001) - 1 vial/450mL agar base. .
Application: Medium for the enumeration, detection and isolation of Bacillus cereus in foodstuffs.
Preparation: 21.5g in 450mL purified water
