Carbolite high temperature ovens are designed for use in the temperature range between traditional oven limits and effective furnace operating temperatures. Choose the oven that best meets your requirements by selecting 400°C, 500°C or 600°C maximum operating temperature and one of three different chamber sizes. Excellent temperature uniformity is provided by continuous air movement within the chamber. Air is drawn over the long-life mineral insulated metal sheathed heating elements and recirculated within the chamber by a side mounted fan.
The ovens are fitted with a single hinged door that provides access to the full width of the chamber when open. The oven chamber walls and door are insulated with low thermal mass encased fiber insulation, providing maximum thermal efficiency. All inner chamber surfaces are covered with grade 430 dull polished stainless steel, which resists chemical attack and provides for convenient cleaning. Adjustable air inlet and outlet circulation ports are provided. A high temperature silicone rubber door gasket provides a tight seal between chamber and door.
The ovens are provided with two pair of adjustable shelf runners and two non-tilt nickel-plated heavy gauge wire shelves. The stylish outer case is fabricated from zinc coated mild steel with stoved epoxy powder paint finish. All controls are front panel mounted on the right side of the oven, eliminating potential damage from accidental spills. A Chromel/Alumel (Type K) thermocouple is utilized to provide the oven control reference.
The standard temperature controller is the Carbolite Model 201 digital controller. See separate listing for optional programmable controls (18-2339). This custom PID temperature controller has both a highly accurate self-tuning feature and ramp-to-setpoint capability. The "Instant Accuracy" feature provides precise and stable control from the moment the controller is powered up. The superior design features of the controller also eliminate the need for routine recalibration. A large bright green digital LED will display either the setpoint or process temperature. Temperature may be displayed in degrees C or F.
Power to the heating element is controlled by a thyristor-based solid state relay. The relay works in the fast cycle zero voltage switching mode to ensure precise power control. The control circuit includes power on indication, instrumentation on/off switch, and a "heater on" light in parallel with the heating elements.
For operation on 240 volts, 50/60Hz. Note: Available in 120V or 208V on special order.
