In 1970 we responded to increasing concerns over health and safety issues related to the handling of powdered culture media. By developing a way to manufacture our media in granulated form we were able to significantly reduce the health risks to microbiology lab personnel and, at the same time, build in other significant, differentiating products benefits. Because granules reduce dust, health risks due to inhalation, exposure to surface residues and airborn irritants are minimized.
Typical Composition (g/L): Peptonized milk 15.0; yeast extract 10.0; D(+)glucose 10.0; tomato juice 7.0; di-potassium hydrogen phosphate 0.5; potassium di-hydrogen phosphate 0.5; sodium chloride 0.01; iron(II) sulfate 0.01; manganese(II) sulfate 0.01; magnesium sulfate 0.01; agar-agar 12.0.
Also to be added: 250mL beer without degassing.
