Demand-type thermostat supplies full power until the set temperature is reached and then cycles to hold temperatures within ±3°C. The cast aluminum top plate has ribs on the underside to prevent warping or buckling. Nickel-chromium alloy heating elements are embedded in refractory plates which preserve the original placement of the coils and protect them from damage. The perforated stainless steel case allows free circulation of cooling air, keeping the control mechanism cool and preventing heat damage to table tops. Temperature control is stepless. Maximum operating temperature is 371°C.
For operation on 50/60 Hz, AC. 18-6720-01 is equipped with 3-wire cord and plug. 18-6720-03 has terminal box for customer installation to an AC line. Both models are UL listed; model 18-6720-03 is also CSA listed. Note: 12x24 top plate model not supplied with cord and plug due to high-wattage consumption requirements; must be connected through electrical conduit fittings.
