In 1970 we responded to increasing concerns over health and safety issues related to the handling of powdered culture media. By developing a way to manufacture our media in granulated form we were able to significantly reduce the health risks to microbiology lab personnel and, at the same time, build in other significant, differentiating products benefits. Because granules reduce dust, health risks due to inhalation, exposure to surface residues and airborn irritants are minimized.
Typical Composition (g/L): Peptone from meat 5.0; peptone from casein 5.0; meat extract 5.0; sodium chloride 3.0; di-sodium hydrogen phosphate 2.0; lactose 10.0; sucrose 10.0; phenol red 0.08; brilliant green 0.0125; agar-agar 12.0.
Application: For the isolation of Salmonella (with the exception of S. typhi and Shigella) from pathological material, feces, urine, foodstuffs, etc.
