In 1970 we responded to increasing concerns over health and safety issues related to the handling of powdered culture media. By developing a way to manufacture our media in granulated form we were able to significantly reduce the health risks to microbiology lab personnel and, at the same time, build in other significant, differentiating products benefits. Because granules reduce dust, health risks due to inhalation, exposure to surface residues and airborn irritants are minimized.
Typical Composition (g/L): Peptone from casein 10.0; yeast extract 5.0; D(+)glucose 20.0; potassium di-hydrogen phosphate 6.0; ammonium citrate 2.0; Tween® 80 1.0; sodium acetate 15.0; magnesium sulfate 0.575; iron(II) sulfate 0.034; manganese sulfate 0.12; agar-agar 15.0.
Application: For the isolation and enumeration of lactobacilli in the oral and intestinal microbial flora, meat, milk and other foodstuffs.
