In 1970 we responded to increasing concerns over health and safety issues related to the handling of powdered culture media. By developing a way to manufacture our media in granulated form we were able to significantly reduce the health risks to microbiology lab personnel and, at the same time, build in other significant, differentiating products benefits. Because granules reduce dust, health risks due to inhalation, exposure to surface residues and airborn irritants are minimized

Application: Agar-Agar Ultrapure is a highly purified solidifying agent which can be used whenever a particularly pure, clear gel is required which is highly permeable to dissolved substances. Ideal for the preparation of especially clear culture media for electrophoresis and diffusion tests.
