In 1970 we responded to increasing concerns over health and safety issues related to the handling of powdered culture media. By developing a way to manufacture our media in granulated form we were able to significantly reduce the health risks to microbiology lab personnel and, at the same time, build in other significant, differentiating products benefits. Because granules reduce dust, health risks due to inhalation, exposure to surface residues and airborn irritants are minimized.
Typical Analysis: pH (5% water) 6.0-7.0; total nitrogen (Kjeldahl) 11.5-12.5%; sulfated ash (800°C) ?18.0%; loss on drying (105°C) ?6.0%; amino nitrogen 3.5-4.5%; suitability for microbiology: conforms.
Application: Meat extract is prepared from meat which is free from tendons and fat. The meat is subjected to a weak proteolysis before being extracted. Meat extract is a superior nutrient base.
